Retrofits

b_200_181_16777215_00___media_images_RETROFIT-1.jpgUET engineers solve your mixer problems using these retrofit components:

  • High efficiency Hydrofoil impellers up to 216" in diameter
  • High torque shafting up to 50 feet in length
  • Heavy duty gearboxes rated up to 1000 HP
  • Mechanical seals designed to handle shaft runout up to 0.150"
  • Variable speed motors

UET uses retrofit technology to upgrade existing mixers to current "best available technology",
Although most mixers are built to last twenty years or more, technological advances make them out of date and less cost effective within five years. There have been significant technical advances in impellors, electronics, seals, metallurgy, and gearboxes. An application that required a 10 HP mixer to operate efficiently twenty years ago may only need 3 HP in order to achieve the same results today

UETS APPROACH TO RETROFITS
When a problem arises with a mixer it may only be necessary to address one component. If the
turbine uses too much power, UET will retrofit the turbine. If the gearbox is worn out, UET will
replace the gearbox. If the seal won't stop leaking, UET will incorporate the correct seal design.

All UET retrofit equipment is guaranteed 100% for two years. Using this approach and utilizing the latest available technology, UET has successfully retrofitted mixers found in a wide range of industrial applications to "as new" condition.

At a petrochemical plant, an old mixer with a worn out gearbox required 200 HP for a processing reaction. UET supplied a new gearbox and designed a more efficient impeller system that reduced the power requirement from 200 HP to 100 HP.

At a food processing plant, mixer impeller shafts were breaking every few months due to inadequate design. UET supplied a new shaft and impeller system designed to reduce shaft forces and provide improved mixing.

Due to an abrasive slurry the mixer propellers at a ceiling tile manufacturing plant were frequently wearing out and not providing adequate mixing. UET supplied replacement high efficiency hydrofoil propellers made of a cast 28% nickel-chrome material to increase the missing intensity and impeller life.

A chemical company had a mixer that regularly overloaded and failed the gearbox. UET supplied a new gearbox sized and designed for the operating conditions.

A paper mill wanted to reduce the energy consumption of its many mixers. UET supplied hydrofoil impellers to replace the old impellers and reduce power consumption 50%.

1 20Hp mixer at a clay producing plant was not providing an adequate mix so plant personnel were planning to upgrade it to 40Hp. Instead, UET supplied a new UET MB/Z impeller for the 20 Hp mixer to provide the proper mixing and improve operating efficiency.
